Much of the recent Local Food Summit discussion centered around the idea of a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) project in Spartanburg. What are your thoughts? There are several great examples around the country.
Here's one of them http://www.threeriversparkdistrict.org/parks/galewoods_csa.cfm

Yes to CSA. Spartanburg needs one.
Yes to CSA in Spartanburg.
I'd love to suscribe to a local CSA that doesn't use chemical fertilizers, insecticides, or herbicides... and I would REALLY love for a slow food cafe to open downtown that is supplied exclusively by local CSAs.
Everyone should read the book Animal, Vegetable, Mineral by Barbara Kingsolver. It supports growing your own food and supporting local farmers. Its a fun read with a lot of serious information on how our food a produced and sold.
CSA price points, membership terms, pick options? What are you looking for/what are the most important "features" to you?
i would LOVE to see a CSA started in Spartanburg for 2009. I'd be willing to be part of the guinea pig group to get it started ... part payment, part work for payment??
